Supportive Workshops

Staff that learn together, grow together. We offer Lecture and Discussion-Style Workshops on building equitable organizational cultures and supporting equity-denied staff and volunteers. But staff need opportunities to express and create together too! That’s why we offer Arts-Based Workshops on topics such as eco-anxiety, exploring colonial histories, and more.

Lecture and Discussion-Style Workshops are offered virtually across so-called North America and in-person in the Greater Toronto Area. Workshops are offered in three forms:

  • Intro Workshops are 1 hour long plus 15 minutes for discussion. Suitable for all staff levels, these workshops help the entire organization get on the same page and sets the stage for future leadership discussions.
  • Advanced Workshops are 2 hours long, including lecture and discussion. Suitable for leadership, HR, People & Culture staff, and Volunteer Managers, these workshops focus on providing time and space to consider how to operationalize and implement Intro workshop learnings.
  • Practical Workshops are 2 hours long. Suitable for leadership, HR, and People & Culture staff, these workshops take a deep dive into participant-submitted scenarios to unearth broad root cause factors, identify specific barriers, and explore how to apply Advanced workshop learnings to real-life organizational challenges.

Arts-Based Workshops

Expressing ourselves through the arts helps us access, process, and share deep truths. Teams that engage in hands-on, creative activities together can encounter each other in new ways, go beyond transactional relationships, and open the door to more meaningful and authentic interactions.

Arts-based workshops are offered in-person in the Greater Toronto Area to small to medium-sized teams of staff, Board, volunteers, or to segments of your organizational audience (such as donors or supporters). If you partner closely with other organizations, these workshops are a great way to come together in a low-stress environment to build trust and have some fun!

Workshop fees include a per person supply fee. We bring all the supplies and do the set-up, so you can relax and enjoy the workshop. Our workshop mediums include poetry, letter writing, colouring, sketching, and musical exploration. Look out for more mediums to come! Current workshops include:

  • Letters to our Ancestors
  • Letters to our Past and Future Selves
  • Eco-Grief Haikus
  • Intergenerational Haikus
  • Colouring for Anxiety Support
  • Sketching our Plant Allies
  • Ragas for Whole Health Support

I have had the pleasure of working closely with Anna-Liza Badaloo on two of Pride at Work Canada’s signature events, and I cannot emphasize enough how invaluable her contribution has been. As the emcee for both SPARK and Virtual ProPride, Anna-Liza exhibited unparalleled dedication, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive environment. Her ability to engage the audience and ensure everyone felt welcome and informed was truly exceptional. During the Virtual ProPride event, where inclusive employers, 2SLGBTQIA+ thought leaders, and community organizations came together, Anna-Liza’s presence shone brightly. She effortlessly blended her knowledge of the subject matter with her care for community and commitment to inclusion to ensure every participant felt welcomed and valued. Anna-Liza’s adaptability in navigating the virtual landscape was impressive, ensuring that the event was seamless, on schedule, accessible and engaging for all attendees. What truly sets Anna-Liza apart is her genuine passion for fostering inclusivity. Throughout the preparation and execution of these events, she consistently went above and beyond to create a space where attendees, speakers, and staff felt comfortable and included. Her warm and welcoming energy, combined with her ability to provide informative and engaging introductions set the perfect tone for both events. In summary, Anna-Liza Badaloo’s contributions as the emcee for SPARK and Virtual ProPride were exceptional.”
