Decolonial Consulting

Where Workshops and Facilitated Communities allow for group and cohort-based experiencing and learning, some staff may also benefit from tailored, 1:1 support. Our Decolonial Consulting services provide individual time and space for leaders and/or people from equity-denied groups to be heard, affirmed, and be supported through their challenges with dignity, care, empathy, and respect. 1-hour sessions are offered in blocks of 3, 6, 9, or 12 sessions which can be held weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Sessions are offered virtually across so-called Canada and in-person in the Greater Toronto Area.

Clarifying Conversations

These sessions support leaders to work through a problem that seems too complex, overwhelming, or amorphous to solve. If you feel stuck, not sure which direction to go, or where to start, these sessions can help cut through the fog of doubt and indecision, present new perspectives, and identify both root causes and acute impacts.

Seasonal Sittings

Many organizations talk about working seasonally. But are you really making the best of your slower periods to support the busy spring and fall seasons? We offer summer and winter sessions that support Executive Directors and leaders to leverage seasonal energies by engaging in targeted reflection of where the organization is at, and where it could go in the coming months. Summer sessions (July and August) focus on setting the organization up for “harvesting” success from Sept to December. Winter sessions (January and February) focus on assessing the previous harvest for valuable lessons, then setting the organization up for “planting” success from March to June.

Resonant Reflections

Designed for leaders and staff with equity-denied identities (2SLGBTQIA+, Black or racialized, neurodivergent, or any combination), these sessions provide an affirming space to be witnessed and heard in their challenges, no longer feel alone in their struggles, celebrate their joys, and be supported in working through related traumas.

Our Decolonial Consulting services also include staff and audience listening circles and “what we heard” reports, program and communications reviews, and other projects that require an empathetic, human-centred approach. Do you have a specific project in mind? Get in touch and tell us about it.

A pair of quotation marks to indicate a quote (testimonial) for Anemochory Consulting services.

Anna-Liza brings diverse expertise and knowledge, a critical and analytical lens, a firm grounding in contemporary conditions and contexts, and a commitment and passion to the work that is so necessary given the weight and complexity of the issues being addressed. My experience with Anna-Liza ranges from working in coalitions, research, event-planning, communications and messaging, knowledge translation and mobilization, and community building. In every instance, Anna-Liza brings her all to the table, in reciprocity and respect.”

Dr. Jane E. McArthur, Toxics Program Director, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE)

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Anna-Liza on the development of a neurodiversity workshop within my organization, where she served as our consultant for the project. She took the time to listen carefully to my ideas and to understand the organization’s needs. Throughout the process, she was generous with her time, thoughtfully answering my questions and providing valuable insights that helped deepen my understanding of neurodiversity in the workplace.

Due to organizational constraints, we were only able to complete the needs assessment phase. Even so, Anna-Liza provided a comprehensive analysis of the survey data and participant feedback, along with detailed recommendations to support future implementation should we decide to move forward.

Working with Anna-Liza was both seamless and enlightening. Her expertise, professionalism, and collaborative approach made the experience highly valuable. I would not hesitate to recommend her for future projects.”
